Apple discontinues M1 MacBook Air, leaving behind its iconic wedge design.

As typically happens when a new Apple device gets announced, it’s “out with the old, in with the new.” The company has quietly discontinued the M1 MacBook Air, which had until now remained in the lineup alongside the redesigned M2 model. But with today’s M3 upgrade, Apple is only selling the notched, more squared off style of Air.

That means the end of the MacBook Air’s wedge-shaped chassis, which stuck around for a long time. The M1 Air is my work laptop, and aside from its very yesterday display bezels, this form factor still holds up remarkably well.
