I think most people will be worthy, considering how easy it is to unlock this lock shaped like the MCU version of Thor’s hammer.
Truth be told, I’d still find something to use it for.
Apple’s long-included macOS Chess game has a new look in the first macOS Sequoia beta.
Shiny as it is, it’s missing things like the “Grass” board and the style picker for the pieces, 9to5Mac writes. Here’s the current version (using “Fur” pieces on the Grass board, of course) compared to a screenshot posted to Reddit of its coming replacement.
So Jon Stewart said of TV network deals while talking to Matt Belloni on his The Town podcast about his split from Apple TV Plus.
9to5Mac highlighted some of his statements, like that he didn’t view Apple limiting his show’s content as censorship. Head to the link below to hear the whole interview.
Elden Ring is getting an update on June 20th — one day ahead of the release of Shadow of the Erdtree — that adds five new hairstyles and a bunch of other handy new features. You can read more about what’s coming on X.
The Elden Ring X account also shared the global release schedule for the expansion and updated minimum and recommended PC specs.
The iconic desktop media player has enjoyed several revivals, but none as technically impressive as Rodrigo Méndez’s Linamp.
Powered by a Raspberry Pi 4B, the stereo’s touchscreen interface features Winamp’s recognizable UI, allowing music to be played from CDs, storage drives, and even Spotify. Most of the iconic Winamp features are there, including playlist editing, but those hypnotic visualizers are, unfortunately, MIA.
My Adventures with Superman has been knocking it out of the park on Adult Swim for two seasons now, and at this year’s Annecy International Animation Film Festival, Warner Bros. announced that the show has been renewed for a third installment.

Late hyperpop legend Sophie, who tragically slipped and fell at the age of 34 from a balcony window in Greece in 2021 trying to look at the moon, has been memorialized on the 9th track “So I” of Brat, Charli XCX’s new album.
“When I’m on stage, sometimes I lie
Say that I like singing these songs you left behind
And I know you always said, “It’s okay to cry”
So I know I can cry, I can cry, so I cry”
I’m not crying, YOU’RE crying.
Say what you will about Marvel’s What If...? Disney Plus series, but it has obviously had at least some influence on Warner Bros.’ new animated Watchmen films that are scheduled to debut some time in the near future.
I am so torn. The Anbernic RG35XXSP — which I’ve mentioned here before — is a beaut. I love handhelds, I love emulators, and I’ve got my own Game Boy cartridges and access to a GB Operator so I can (legally?) back ‘em up.
On the other hand, Anbernic is shipping these with truckloads of pirated ROMs! Didn’t ask for those; I’d happily buy without.
Time travel back to E3 2001 with this nearly two-hour video of footage from the show, which we saw thanks to Time Extension. There were tons of games featured in the video that would go on to become beloved favorites, including Super Smash Bros. Melee, Rez, and Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty.
“Enter The Jackbox Megapicker: a free product exclusive to Steam, where you can view your game library, sort and filter the games you love, and quickly launch an evening of fun,” Jackbox Games announced today. Sounds like a handy way to more easily sift through Jackbox’s 50-plus games.
The Megapicker is set to launch in July.

Following the introduction of live NBA scores, Threads will have live MLB scores “starting today,” Instagram head Adam Mosseri announced. You can see MLB scores by searching for a game while it’s happening or within one day of when it ends, according to spokesperson Alec Booker.
The company plans to “continue expanding live scores to cover more sports and leagues,” Mosseri said.
Update, June 13th: Added new details and an image from Meta.
What will we find there? NBC Sports writer Denny Carter might have the best guess, from this 2017 tweet:
Typical QB tweet: love my teammates god is good!
RB tweet: keep grindin

WR tweet: the enemy speaks kindly & holds a knife
Following last year’s Quarterback series, Receiver premieres on Netflix on July 10th.
Yoppaman — comedian Zack Fox and illustrator Chibu Okere’s pitch for an animated series inspired by Waffle House brawls, FLCL, and Power Rangers — hasn’t officially been scooped up by a studio or network (yet). But this concept teaser produced by Six Point Harness, Inc makes the employees of Happy Grits seem like folks who deserve some hefty tips.
Apple used The Instigators during WWDC to show off some new features for the Apple TV, but now we have a trailer that actually, you know, let’s you see what the movie is about. The heist flick starts streaming on August 9th, with a limited theatrical run the week before.
Rare’s hit pirate simulator game is coming to Nvidia’s cloud gaming service this week. No, I’m not sorry for the tortured cloud pun.
Le Creuset and Pokémon will release Pokémon-themed cookware in two drops starting in July. Le Creuset’s Pokémon Collection includes dishes that resemble Poké Balls, as well as colorful mugs, plates, rice bowls, and even a Cocotte cooking pot featuring characters like Pikachu.
Thankfully, there don’t appear to be pokémon in the pots.
As reported by Consumer Affairs, data shows that the average price of “video discs and other media” reached $44.06 in April 2024, a 29 percent increase compared to last year.
That price may only continue to rise as stores like Best Buy and Target turn away from physical media. I guess I started raiding Walmart’s $5 DVD bin at the right time!
Summer Game Fest has officially wrapped up — you can check out all of the major announcements right here — and unsurprisingly host Geoff Keighley has confirmed that the multi-day showcase will be back in LA in 2025.
About three years after becoming VP of Netflix Games, Mike Verdu gave this statement to GamesIndustry.biz:
I am so proud of what we’ve accomplished, and excited to start a new team at Netflix on the cutting edge of game innovation.
He will apparently stay on as VP until a replacement is found and then work on “new technologies” (maybe something in the cloud?) in game development.

To prepare us for Shadow of the Erdtree FromSoftware has released a “The Journey So Far” video. The company has also announced that Elden Ring itself has sold 25 million copies. But honestly, considering that in order to even access Shadow you need to beat Shardbearer Mohg — a feat only 38% of Steam players have achieved — FromSoftware would have been better off releasing a “How to beat Mohg” video.
